Arkansas Life magazine hired me to photograph the cover of their January issue. The assignment was to photograph a variety of bird hunting dogs and their owners. The day before the shoot a HUGE ice storm came through Arkansas. Unfortunately it wouldn't have been safe for everyone to meet up on our original shoot date. We pushed the shoot back a couple weeks which meant that we had to push back the feature in the magazine a year. I am so excited to FINALLY be able to show y'all some of my favorite images from this shoot! I had such a blast. I hadn't grown up hunting or been altogether familiar with the culture beforehand, so the experience of meeting several Arkansas hunters was an eye-opening one. After an early-morning shoot, we were invited by one of the hunters to go out and tag along with his buddies as they hunted quail. My favorite assignments are ones where we are thrown into unfamiliar circumstances and subjects, and see how we can come away with something new and fresh. This was certainly no exception.
The 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa is a member of the prestigious Historic Hotels of America, the hotel is a mountaintop spa resort known widely as Arkansas’ symbol of hospitality. Surrounded by 15 acres of pristine woodlands, the hotel has an impressive history that has been thoughtfully preserved while providing modern comforts. The hotel boasts the highest point in the mountainous Eureka Springs and has a breathtaking view of the Ozarks.
One of my favorite flower shops / boutiques in all the land is Flora. Flora is based in Fayetteville Arkansas' historic downtown square and is owned by Fayetteville legend Pam Pemberton. She along with her team make the most gorgeous arrangements and now carry incredible clothes, accessories, and jewelry too. I am so stoked to be helping Flora put together some images for their new website that is currently being developed by the amazing Archetype Productions. The photos below were taken as Flora was preparing for an joint Morgan Stanley party + Georgia O'Keeffe & Alfred Steglitz exhibit at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Since the arrangements were so numerous and detailed, Bartus of Buzz Events and Merideth Boswell, a set decorator and Oscar nominee, also came in and helped out.
I was lucky enough to photograph the cover of Arkansas Life Magazine's November feature. Chef Miles James of James at the Mill Restaurant takes farm-fresh produce to extraordinary heights of tastiness with a feast for his closest friends and family.

We were lucky enough to be commissioned to do a commercial project for DaySpring Cards (owned by Hallmark Cards). We shot many Lisa Leonard Design pieces, Joyn products, and some home decor. Below are a few of the images we shot for them. DaySpring also sent along someone from their video team to film our photo shoot, so be sure to check out that video at the bottom of the page. We shot on location at Inventory, Flora and at our studio, The Workhorse. Also, a big thanks to the Creative Directors at DaySpring and our models Alex Bodishbaugh & Sara Morgan. Last week we photographed a sunrise yoga class at Yellow Rock Overlook in Devil's Den State Park. The class was sponsored by Fayettechill and Soul Yoga Lounge. The class was taught by Alexandira Mero. Daniel from Pelikan Films also came along and captured all the action in cinematic form. Can't wait to see what he comes away with! Here's how it all went down... Everyone arrived at Fayettechill's Basecamp in downtown Fayetteville, AR at 5am. We caravanned to Devil Den's State Park and hiked the 1.5 mile Yellow Rock Trail in the dark. Once everyone arrived at the Yellow Rock Overlook, Alexandria expertly led the class. I believe most of the students are taking Hot Yoga. Hot Yoga is done in around 105°. On this particular day it was only 28°. Keeping that in mind and that the class took part on uneven rock on the edge of a cliff, it was a challenge even for the most advanced students.
