Ellyn is an incredibly talented actress based here in LA. She is one of the most joyful people I've met, and could hardly stop smiling during our session.
Arkansas Life magazine hired me to photograph the cover of their January issue. The assignment was to photograph a variety of bird hunting dogs and their owners. The day before the shoot a HUGE ice storm came through Arkansas. Unfortunately it wouldn't have been safe for everyone to meet up on our original shoot date. We pushed the shoot back a couple weeks which meant that we had to push back the feature in the magazine a year. I am so excited to FINALLY be able to show y'all some of my favorite images from this shoot! I had such a blast. I hadn't grown up hunting or been altogether familiar with the culture beforehand, so the experience of meeting several Arkansas hunters was an eye-opening one. After an early-morning shoot, we were invited by one of the hunters to go out and tag along with his buddies as they hunted quail. My favorite assignments are ones where we are thrown into unfamiliar circumstances and subjects, and see how we can come away with something new and fresh. This was certainly no exception.

Portraits of a Marine.
I spent the afternoon a few weeks ago with Natalie and her beautiful Siberian Huskies, Max & Delilah. We had a great time walking along the edge of Beaver Lake as well as catching the last few rays of sun from Shaddox Hollow.
I went to Dallas, TX this past weekend for a nice little getaway with a couple friends. Huzzah!
Sometimes you just need to get up early on a cold winter day and explore this beautiful world. Luckily, I was able to convince Anna & Henry to join me. In order to stay warm Anna bundled up with L.L.Bean's gorgeous Hudson's Bay's blanket.
